LOBO BASKETBALL: Canadian forward Milicevic commits to UNM

Jovan Milicevic, a Serbian-Canadian recruit, announced his commitment to the University of New Mexico men’s basketball team and head coach Richard Pitino on Oct. 16.

A native of Ontario, Canada, he has played for Dream City Christian Prep School in Glendale, Ariz. and the Arizona Unity on the AAU circuit.

Milicevic held 14 Division 1 scholarship offers from notable Power 5 programs like Oregon, UCLA, Arizona State and Oklahoma State. He also received an offer from New Mexico State University.

Milicevic has been listed as a four-star recruit by various recruitment sites.

The 6-foot-10 forward is considered a versatile big who can score on all three levels and is considered a stretch-four because of his size and skill set.

Milicevic has the ability to shoot and pull defenders out from the paint. His frame and fluidness allow him to create space and position himself down low. He can finish at the rim, knock down a 3-pointer or pull up from the midrange.

At his height, Milicevic could be deemed a mismatch nightmare for opposing teams and coaches.

Milicevic joins 3-star combo guard Kayde Dotson from Beaumont, Texas in 2024.
